Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. She is an actress as well as a singer and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career performing in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors in stage film and television and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It will also be available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be returning in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the nation's crisis, which swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Ashford was the main character in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. Her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Her additional Broadway performances are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been brought up in Denver, now spends time living in Los Angeles and New York.
